Steve Wallace

Staging an international multi-sport Games is a huge undertaking. In this episode of Invictus Games Radio, we get the chance to hear from Invictus Games Toronto 2017 Chief Marketing Officer, Steve Wallace. Steve brings with him a wealth of experience which includes working at the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Games on the Cold FX marketing campaign. He was also the Vice President of Brand Activation at the Toronto 2015 Pan Am/Parapan Am Games.

Steve’s special ability is to bring a vision to life. In the case of the Invictus Games Toronto 2017, being able to capture the imagination of a city like Toronto has some unique challenges. Recognizing the inclusive nature of the multi-cultural community in the GTA has been a tremendous asset. Being able to pair the stories of heroic sacrifice that have been uncovered in the stories of the Invictus Games competitors with creating an exciting and innovative event is the goal.

Steve has already spearheaded some wildly popular innovations which include the 6,000-block structure that spelled out ‘I AM.’ This structure was built by the members of the public attending the One-Year Countdown celebration at Yonge Dundas Square during Nuit Blanche in late September 2016. Each person got the chance to place a block on the structure until it was completed. The ultimate experience in collaboration.
