Department: Operations – Medical

Reports to: Venue Medical Lead

General Accountability

Assess and manage injuries to all accredited peoples on venue in accordance to their scope of practice and specific area of specialization. Assist EMS during medical emergency situations as necessary, within their scope of training.

Key Responsibilities

Pre-Games

  • Have a strong understanding of all IG2017 MED Policies and Procedures
  • Participate in all mandatory Volunteer Training sessions
  • Participate in all mandatory MED Volunteer Training sessions

Games Time

  • Share personal knowledge, experience and training to others on the venue medical team
  • Respond to medical emergencies in all BOH areas of the venue as per IG2017 Medical Policies and Procedures and in accordance with specific training
  • Respond of FOP injuries as per IG2017 MED Policies and Procedures
  • Assess and manage illnesses or injuries in accordance to your scope of practice and training and in accordance to IG2017

Medical Policies and Procedures

  • Make appropriate referrals for continuing care as necessary
  • Help maintain the Game electronic medical records as per IG2017 Medical Policies and Procedures

Requirements

  • Medical/healthcare experience with adaptive sport, Multi-sport Games or military
  • Current independent license to practice your specific health profession
  • Current independent license to practice your specific profession in Ontario
  • Member in good standing with your respective regulatory college in Ontario
  • Valid malpractice and professional liability insurance during Games time (as required by your regulatory college in Ontario)
  • Valid Emergency First Responder w/ AED (HCP level) certificate, equivalent or higher during Games time preferred
